About the role

Are you interested in helping build the next generation of cloud-based simulation? The Simcenter SaaS platform is changing the way Siemens customers use engineering simulation software to create amazing new products. Our goal is to make the Simcenter SaaS platform the easiest, most flexible way to get engineering insights, in the shortest possible time.


Are you ready to take a leading role in this transformation?

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and experienced UX designer/generalist within the Simulation and Test segment of Siemens Digital Industries software. You will be involved with the full design process from problem framing and defining requirements to designing solutions and supporting throughout the implementation. You will work plan and perform user researcher to gain user insights, identify opportunities, validate concepts, and socialize ideas across the team. You are experienced at coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams and communicating design considerations to different audiences, including engineers, management, and potential customers.


Your main responsibilities are to:

  • user research to implement evidence-based design as well as measuring recently released product features to establish benchmarks and identify potential areas of improvement
  • You will take research insights and design user-experiences from low-fidelity sketches to hi-fidelity pixel perfect mock-ups and create rapid prototypes to validate design concepts with stakeholders and customers
  • You will apply your knowledge of human factors and the user-centered design process to product and service design in an iterative development environment
  • acilitate cross-disciplinary workshops supporting co-design within a design-thinking process


Your qualifications:

  • You join us with a demonstrated background of user experience researcher and design at a design agency, or within an in-house UX team with a portfolio of successful reference projects. Experience within the industrial (PLM/CAD/CAE) software space would be a distinct advantage. We are looking for someone who understands a range of UX methods and their application, experience of conducting user interviews, and experience analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data to produce UX artefacts
  • Communication skills are central in this role: you can communicate user needs to senior stakeholders and act as a persuasive advocate for them. Thanks to your excellent collaboration skills, you build positive relationships with your colleagues across the globe. You are a strong teammate who can work with multi-cultural, dispersed technical teams. You are good at influencing, driving impact and implementing change
  • We would love to hear from you if you are self-motivated, enthusiastic, persistent, and focused on the end results. You are pragmatic and adaptable with the ability to deal with ambiguity and effectively manage change
  • You will have experience of agile working within a design team and understand how to effectively integrate design with an agile development team and are proficient with a range of design, presentation, and prototyping tools
